Our 4-year-old preschool programs are designed in collaboration with children in an emergent style curriculum. Experiences evolve from their interests and questions through inquiry-based learning. Ideas emerge from children’s discussions during play. There are opportunities to pose questions, solve problems, test out theories or develop skills and persistence as children play together and discuss their ideas as a learning community. Children are actively engaged in exploring their sensory-rich environments through purposeful play. These experiences may involve: science; the natural world; sustainable and environmental education; the creative arts; storytelling; music; drama or dance. Indigenous perspectives are woven throughout our programs alongside the children’s learning journey.
Educators work with families as a team to reflect, evaluate and design programs that flow with children’s needs.
Our 4-year-old kinder programs for 2024 offer two long-day sessions. Children can attend two 7.5 hour sessions on either a Monday & Tuesday, Monday & Thursday, or two 7.5 hour sessions on a Tuesday & Thursday.
Parents can also enrol their children in our Extended Care Program after 4pm, which extends care for 1.5 hours until 5:30pm.
