Enrolment

Enrol in 3-Year-Old Preschool

Our 3-year-old preschool program has 22 places. All enrolments for the 3 year old program for 2024 and 2025 will be done through the Nillumbik Council.

Council will collect applications, register children in the central system, allocate a preschool place to the child and liaise with families in relation to their 3 year old preschool registration.

It is Government policy that children must be 3 years of age before 30 April in the year of commencement. Children can start attending the program when they have turned 3. We can reserve your child’s place in the program until then if you have paid your refundable deposit.

Please note, when enrolling your child into preschool via the Nillumbik Council website, there is an option to enrol your child into 3- year-old kinder, followed by a year of 4-year-old kinder.

Enrol in 4-Year-Old Preschool

Enrolment for 4-year-old preschool in 2024 and 2025 is processed through Nillumbik Shire Council and opens in March two years before your child turns 4 years old. Please indicate Eltham Woods Preschool as your first preference on your form.

After the Council has finished their registration process, you will be contacted by Eltham Woods Preschool to finalise the enrolment. This is where we will place your child in either of the 3 long day programs on Monday & Tuesday (Echidnas), Monday and Thursday (Lyrebirds) or Tuesday & Thursday (Platypus), based on your preference.

In 2024 there will 13 places available in each of the 3 long day programs.  We endeavour to place everyone according to their preferences however, we cannot guarantee a place in your preferred days.

Please note, if your child has attended the 3-year-old program at Eltham Woods Preschool, you are still required to apply for the 4-year-old program through Nillumbik Council (if you did not complete an application for both programs previously).

Policies

Eltham Woods Kindergarten abides by a range of policies to support the health and safety of all children, one of these policies includes ‘No Jab, No Play’. Further information on this can be found within our ‘Dealing with Infectious Diseases Policy’.
